“I was honored when the Reverend Hal Marchman and Dr. Ernest Cantley approached me to help them organize the Stewart-Marchman-Act Foundation. I called on community leaders to join me on the Board of Directors and we set a goal; to raise $1,000,000 in 1997. We have long since achieved that goal, and our ongoing challenge is to continue to build a stronger ‘foundation for the Foundation.’ I pledge to continue to promote people helping people.”

Annual Dinner & Auction

Stewart-Marchman-Act Foundation’s signature annual event occurs as the opening event for the Coke Zero 400 Powered by Coca Cola. Sponsorship opportunities are available for 2012.

Dinner Background

SMAF Car For the first two years the event was held at Adam’s Mark. After that the Daytona International Speedway offered the elegant Daytona Club to house the annual event and now it is held at the fabulous DAYTONA 500 Club in the infield. A VIP reception is held on the second floor of the DAYTONA 500 Club. Until his untimely death, Benny Parsons served as the event’s Master of Ceremonies. Dr. Jerry Punch has served as our Master of Ceremonies in recent years and Darrell Waltrip is our auctioneer.

Each year the event exceeded previous year’s attendance and corporate participation. Last year’s event was attended by over 70 businesses and organizations; the vast majority of these organizations were locally based in Volusia and Flagler County. The event has evolved to one of the “must do” events for the area’s major businesses. On average, over 450 individuals are in attendance.
