The Stewart-Marchman-Act Foundation’s 2016 Annual Dinner Celebration & Auction was held on June 29, 2016 at the DAYTONA 500 Club at the Daytona International Speedway. This year’s honoree was Steve Letarte, former NASCAR Crew Chief, TV Analyst & Motivational Speaker.
The event was a huge success, raising nearly $130,000 toward the Huger Adolescent Campus. This success comes through the major support of our community, through sponsorships, ticket sales, the live auction and other donations. Nearly 400 community members came out for the Victory Lane ~ Then and Now celebration.
Other highlights of the night included live auction items such as the Peavey guitar autographed by numerous Country 500 artists, handcrafted quilt made by the ladies at WARM, and an autographed and framed photo of the closest finish in the history of the Daytona 500 from just this past February. Attendees were able to get their photos taken with the 1961 Daytona 500 winning car and trophy on display in Victory Lane (thanks to Marvette Panch and Sharpshooter for providing that opportunity). With the help of Daytona International Speedway and their staff, several items from their archives were on display for everyone to enjoy.
A special thank you is extended to:
- Ralph Sheheen, the evening’s Emcee
- Chief Robert Hardwick, St. Augustine Beach Police Department, for leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance
- Pastor Christian Magnell, Beachside Community Church, for providing the Invocation)
- Doug Duchardt, Hendrick Motorsports, for introducing our honoree
- and of course, our Honoree Steve Letarte and his wife.
Thank you to all of our sponsors and the individuals who came out to support the Stewart-Marchman-Act Foundation and SMA Behavioral Health Services, Inc.
